3.2 Intro 8 G2 System Overview
Intro 8 G2 has a processor with touch screen and LCD, and a ticket printer. The processor runs a web browser that communicates with the Orchestra web server. The ticket printer communicates with the Orchestra queue server. Intro 8 G2 only stores the address of the start page; all HTML/QSP pages reside on the web server.
Operating Modes
- Queue Agent + Device Controller (GW1745) — Most common in a distributed environment.
- Queue Agent only — When no Qmatic hardware devices in the branch require the Device Controller.
- Device Controller only — When using the central queue agent instead of distributed mode.
3.3 Orchestra Prerequisites
- A layout/surface for the kiosk touch screen and tickets must be prepared in Orchestra.
- The kiosk unit type must be added to the branch equipment profile (configure Unit ID and touch application at equipment profile level; kiosk IP address at branch level).
- The device controller unit type must be added to the branch equipment profile.
3.4 Access Configuration Pages
External configuration pages (browser):
- In a browser, go to
http://<ipaddress>/admin. The factory default IP address is192.168.0.17. - If a security warning appears, click Advanced then Proceed.
- Log in with:

- Network configuration is reset; WAN IP address returns to
192.168.0.17. - Log files are not removed (except queue agent log files).
- Installed patches are not removed.
3.6 Handle Licenses and MyQmatic
Intro 8 G2 requires both a MyQmatic SD card and a license. The MyQmatic SD card (factory installed) serves as storage for the queue agent media folder and as a license holder. The card can be moved between units, transferring all data including the license.
Activate License Online
- Ensure Intro 8 G2 has internet access and a Primary DNS is configured (e.g. Google DNS:
8.8.8.8or8.8.4.4). - Go to Basics > License, enter your license key in the yellow field, and click Activate.
Activate License Offline
- Enter your License Key and click Activate offline.
- Download the generated file.
